Whittington Still: What's New

Acting - "Indigo Blues" - July 1, 2010

Indigo Blues is a stage play written and directed by Cheryl Cherrie of CJ Productions. The show ran for two days at the Maranatha Fellowship Center in Moorestown, NJ on June 25th & 26th.

The cast was great and Whittington Still took on the the character of Ms. Indigo Blue. She was a jazz singing, Southern Bell who had an emotional roller coaster to take her audience on!

"It was a great experience and I had no idea the character would come so alive! I was excited when I heard that some people in the audience actually became a little frightened by the crazed Southern bell & her roller coaster ride. It was so cool to be able to sing during the play! After all, singing is my first love, but I must admit...acting is running a close second!" - Whittington Still

Another "FIRST" for Whittington Still - March 17, 2010

Recently, a local artist invited Whittington Still to the studio to add a
soulful sound to the rapper's latest project!  They both have known each
other for a while now and would often mention working together but they
were both preoccupied.

Interestingly, "Dre" didn't forget Still while composing his second CD
titled "Grown Man's Island". Here's what Still had to say about the
project...

"I've only gone into the studio to complete songs from start to finish and
in between. (Smiling) This was the first time I went in and was able to
sing hooks and adlibs, hoping to add some soul to the rap. I like a few
rappers and their message but I never thought I would be considered for a
project like this. It was great & I had so much fun! "Dre" is so easy to
work with. The engineer "Roscoe" out of Philadelphia was a genius & knew
just what we needed to make the song hot!  The songs on this project truly
show Dre’s growth in his talents as well his delivery. Hence the title of
the CD… “Grown Man’s Island”.  I’m so proud of him!”

Thanks Camden! - May 3, 2008

Recently Whittington Still visited her home town of Camden, NJ where she enjoys meeting up with old classmates & visiting her favorite places. She especially likes spending time at The Pub which is her favorite restaurant. She still gets excited with the idea of crossing over the bridge to the Philadelphia Zoo. Whittington loves the aquarium as well.

"I'd like to take a moment to personally thank Camden for all of the love and support that is displayed whenever I visit the one place I can proudly call home. You guys are holding it down and making a difference! Thank You."

Whittington Still is known in Camden as Rhonda Jones where she attended Forrest Hill Grade School, Hatch Middle and divided her early high school years between Camden High School, Woodrow Wilson and Glasgow High located in Glasgow Delaware.

When asked about life out on the West Coast Whittington Still commented on California being her second home after living out there for a number of years. "When I was just a little girl, I would tell my dad that I was going to live in California one day... & in 1999 the plan went into motion. I began performing in California with my band and absolutely loved it! I also started working on my first demo. During that time certain decisions had to be made and I decided to come back to the East coast. I have so much love and support right here and it's been a blessing!"

Thanks Camden!

The 'Whittington Still' Name - March 15, 2008

Q. Where did you get the name 'Whittington Still'?

A. Well, I lost my mother at the age of seven. However, I need to believe that she's with me in spirit today and everyday. She definitely has an authentic connection as the unselfish giver of life and the designer of my various talents. So it is my choice & my pleasure to incorporate my mother and the idea of her by using her beautiful name - Rhoda Whittington.

My grandmother is also with me in spirit. I was young when I lost her as well. However, she was in my life for a slightly longer period than my mother. I remember my grandmother's smile, her genuine love for her children and every last one of her grandchildren. She was some kind of special! My grandmother's name is well known for its history. You can read about our history in the "Historical Still Family" write up below.

My grandmother -Geraldine Still and my mother - Rhoda Whittington, are two very special people in my life. The combination of 'Whittington' with 'Still' was perfect! I love it! And that is how the name Whittington Still evolved.
